More construction in Kingsford

29 November 2016

More work is now underway in Kingsford, with construction starting on Anzac Parade between High and Barker streets on 25 November. Parking and bus lanes have been removed from both sides of Anzac Parade and a 24-hour clearway has been introduced in this section.

There will be a lot of work in this area over the summer holiday period with intersection work taking place at the intersections of Anzac Parade with Barker Street and High Street. This will allow us to carry out important work to lay tracks through these intersections with minimal disruption to traffic and the University of NSW.

In late December 2016, work on Anzac Parade between Todman Avenue and High Street will move from the middle of Anzac Parade to the southbound side of the road space, with associated lane changes in place. With important utility work on Anzac Parade at Middle and Meeks streets nearly complete, light rail construction will also be ramping up within the construction zone in this area.

The Kensington and Kingsford Light Rail Community Forum will be held at the Meeks Street Noodle Markets on Saturday 3 December 2016, between 2pm and 4pm.  The ALTRAC team will be attending the markets to provide information to the community about light rail design and construction in the local area. Drop by to meet the team, view our latest maps and have all your light rail questions answered.
