TRACKS APPEAR IN SURRY HILLS

27 June 2017

The first stretch of tracks was installed on Devonshire Street, between Chalmers Street and Elizabeth Street, near Central Station in early June. This followed a small amount of track installation across the Devonshire and Elizabeth Street intersection over the Easter long weekend.

This is a significant milestone for Surry Hills and more track will follow in this area over the next month as we work our way up Devonshire Street.

Work is continuing at the intersection of Devonshire and Elizabeth Streets, including water main and gas relocation work.

Road and pavement work will also carry on throughout July in Zone 14, Chalmers Street between Eddy Avenue and Devonshire Street in preparation for the start of construction in this zone later in the month.

Devonshire Street is now closed between Elizabeth and Waterloo Streets, to enable ongoing utility work. This closure will remain in place for the duration of construction in the area.

In mid-June we enjoyed another community BBQ with local residents at the Devonshire Street apartments. This is a monthly event that provides us with a great opportunity to stay in touch and provide updates to local residents as construction progresses.
