Track-laying continues31 October 2016
More track has been laid in Kensington following a successful program of work at the intersection of Anzac Parade and Doncaster Avenue during the September and October school holidays.
Closure of the Doncaster Avenue intersection enabled crews to install the track over two weeks and avoid working over an estimated 15 weekends to deliver the same work.
This is the first section of rail on the CBD and South East Light Rail project that can be driven or rode over. Cyclists wishing to ride on Anzac Parade are advised to ride alongside the tracks in the kerbside lane. To ride safely over the tracks, they should approach at a right angle to avoid the risk of wheels getting trapped, or dismount and walk their bicycle.
Night work has been continuing in Anzac Parade between Todman and High streets and Barker and Rainbow streets throughout October. This work needed to be carried out at night to minimise disruption to traffic on Anzac Parade. ALTRAC Light Rail would like to thank the community for their patience throughout this work.
A series of road and traffic changes will be taking place on Anzac Parade towards the end of the year. Drivers in the area should look out for signs advising of changed traffic conditions. For details of all the latest road closures visit the Live Traffic website
