Inner West Light Rail Extension street light upgrades
October 2014

The Inner West Light Rail Extension is a 5.6 kilometre addition to Sydney’s light rail network that runs along the former Rozelle freight rail corridor, adding nine new light rail stops between Lilyfield and Dulwich Hill.

Services commenced in March 2014 and customers can expect to see some minor work continue around the stops to provide easier access.

Street lighting upgrades

Transport for NSW is installing new and upgraded lighting around stops in your area to improve safely on the Inner West Light Rail Extension project.

Affected light rail stops include:

  • Lewisham West
  • Waratah Mills - Weston Street and Davis Street cul-de-sac
  • Arlington - Constitution Road and Johnson Park
  • Dulwich Grove - New Canterbury Road and Hercules Street
  • Dulwich Hill

The lighting upgrade is part of a package of works to improve the streetscape for customers and pedestrians around entrances to the new light rail stops on the Inner West Light Rail Extension.

The modifications to the street lighting will be completed by the end of October 2014.

The work will be undertaken during standard construction hours, 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturday. Installation is not expected to cause any disruption to residents, businesses or local traffic.

The final design for the lighting upgrade follows consultation with the community and incorporates feedback Transport for NSW has received over the past 12 months.

The proposed lighting upgrades will increase the level of street lighting in the streets affected.

Please download the pdf below for maps of the local area showing where street lighting will be added, removed or modified.
