How will it affect me?
If you are located near the worksite, you may experience some noise and dust from the equipment used during these activities. Every effort will be made to minimise the impact to residents and businesses while work is undertaken. Where required, excavation activities will be watered down for dust suppression and plant will be switched off when not in use to minimise noise.
Traffic changes and detours
Temporary traffic changes will be in place while these works are undertaken. Directional signage will be installed to assist motorists, pedestrians and cyclists, and access to buildings and footpaths will be maintained at all times.
In preparation for the George Street works, there will be some minor surveying of utilities taking place at Bathurst, Liverpool and Goulburn Street intersections between 10pm and 5am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights in the weeks commencing 20 October and 27 October.
This work will not be noisy and involves paint marking the road surface and opening a small number of service access lids to record existing utilities. Limited traffic management will be in place during this time.
We apologise for any disruption and inconvenience caused during this important work. If you have any urgent enquiries or complaints during these works, please contact the 24-hour Construction Response line on 1800 775 465.
