The "CBD North" zone includes Hickson Road running along Walsh Bay (northernmost tip of the Sydney CBD) to King Street.

Light rail works in the CBD (day and night time work) at the intersection of George Street and King Street through to 31 March 2016.

Work locations

Investigation works will continue at the intersection of George Street and King Street in the CBD across some weekends and midweek nights. These works adjoin Zone 5 where constructions works are continuing on George Street, between King Street and Market Street.

Construction work will continue in George Street, between King Street and Market Street (Zone 5) and in George Street, between Market Street and Park Street (Zone 6). New work includes drainage works and road pavement works. Investigation works will continue on roads outside the closed sections of George Street in preparation for future construction work.

Light rail works will continue in Surry Hills and Moore Park from 31 January 2016 (day and night time work)

ALTRAC Light Rail will be carrying out surveys, geotechnical investigations, and potholing work in the Surry Hills/Moore Park area in preparation for main construction of the light rail project. Two site compounds, one at Moore Park East and one at Moore Park West will also be established.

This work may involve localised traffic and pedestrian changes including some lane closures. See below for details.

ALTRAC Light Rail will start work in Zone 23 (Alison Road between Anzac Parade and Darley Road) and Zone 24 (Alison Road between Darley Road and Wansey Road) from mid-February 2016

The majority of works in these zones are expected to take place during the day, however some night works will be required. 

In addition, investigation works will continue along the light rail corridor from 31 January in preparation for future construction work.

Construction of temporary in-field car park, Randwick Racecourse
Tuesday 10 November 2015 to Friday 8 April 2016

Managing Contractor Laing O’Rourke will be constructing a temporary in-field car park at the Randwick Racecourse grounds to accommodate parking in preparation for construction of the CBD and South East Light Rail. The works will take place from Tuesday 10 November 2015 and continue until Friday 8 April 2016. No works will take place on race and event days, Sundays or public holidays.

Light rail works will be taking place in your area from 31 January 2016 to 30 April 2016.

ALTRAC Light Rail will continue work at the Light Rail Stabling Yard at the corner of Doncaster Avenue and Alison Road and the Rainbow Street construction compound at the Kingsford nine-ways intersection.

Investigation work will also continue in preparation for main construction work starting in the area.

CSELR notification Kingsford and Kensington - potholing and geotech - 31 January to 30 April 2016

Work to establish a light rail compound at Kingsford will take place from 14 December 2015

In accordance with planning approvals, a site compound and materials storage yard is being established within the car park site adjoining Nine Ways intersection, Anzac Parade and Rainbow Street in Kingsford. Early preparatory works will take place in December 2015 to remove hazardous materials from the site before the area is prepared for storage of construction materials. Maroubra Rotary Club's Sunday markets will be unaffected until January 2016.

This site compound will continue to operate as a construction materials storage site until the end of the project.
