Information for businesses
The expansion of the Sydney Light Rail network will deliver significant economic benefits for Sydney. Constructing the new CBD and South East Light Rail route through a busy urban environment will not be without challenges however and keeping Sydney ‘Open for Business’ during this process is a primary goal of the project team.
Transport for NSW will work with key partners at City of Sydney and Randwick City Councils in developing appropriate measures to mitigate impacts or loss of trade during construction. The route and construction delivery methods are being designed to ensure access to all properties and business is maintained during construction and operation.
Business forums have been established in precincts across the CBD and South East Light Rail route. There will be three business forums – CBD, Surry Hills/ Moore Park and Randwick/Kingsford/Kensington.
These forums will be a regular opportunity for businesses to learn more about the project, its potential impacts and how they can best prepare for construction.
The CBD and South East Light Rail project received planning approval on 4 June 2014 and construction is due to start after Anzac Day 2015 with the system open and operational in 2019/2020.
If you operate a business along the route and would like to attend one of the the business forums in your area, please contact us via the contact us page. You will be required to register before attending any of the business forums.
